You may think that you need to go into a studio to get a good result or that professional equipment is prohibitively expensive, but that is not the case these days.
In reality, the equipment could be as little as £100. The equipment I use most frequently can be purchased for around £400 new or for about £200 on ebay.
Even though you can hire me to record at your location (within a limited area of North West UK), many of my clients record their own audio and send it to me to edit and produce it for them. This way you can record when and where you like and it’s more cost effective in the long run.
Creating an audio podcast has two main aspects:
- The raw recording – This is the process of recording the raw audio on location.
- Editing and Production – This is the process of turning it into a usable product.
The recording part—specifically my method—can be taught in a relatively short space of time and is not as technical as you might think. The tuition does not include the process of editing and production as that is much more involved, but if you want to record your own audio and send it to me for editing and production this could be for you.
